With more course choices than ever before, at a variety of levels of difficulty and readiness, the Wisconsin Virtual Learning course catalog is carefully designed to address and meet the learning needs of all students. The catalog is organized by subject - simply click on the desired course for a description.
Please be aware of the following:
1. When the need arises, high ability students in grades 6-8 may enroll in high school courses and have the opportunity to earn high school credit.
2. Because of a very flexible learning management system, high school students challenged in one or more content areas will have the ability to earn credits from a wide variety of classes with the appropriate lower level of rigor.
3. Most of the courses originate from two curriculum providers, Florida Virtual (Flvs) and Aventa. Included in the catalog are several courses that are slated to be developed by the talented educators on the WVL staff.
4. Student course selections will be made by a team of the student's parent/guardian and at least one WVL teacher or administrator. The team will judge each student's readiness through the use of: one or more placement tests, past performance/testing, post-high school goals, and the opinion of the parent/guardian.
5. WVL is proud of our ability to offer a diverse range of courses to meet individualized student needs. While all courses listed are available to our school, it is not a guarantee. Final course offerings will be based on student demand and our ability to staff with the highest quality licensed teachers.
6. Students in grades 6 and 7 will have the option of enrolling in one of 24 Rosetta Stone online World Language Courses. Students in grade 8 will be able to register for World Language survey, in preparation for High School World Language courses.
